History of Las Vegas – the casino life starting point!

Las Vegas city is actually the mother of the entire gaming industry. The whole city is devoted to the endless entertainment, luxury, large sums of money being spent in all sorts of gambling establishments. The gambling history of Las Vegas is very interesting. The place that was initially a dusty desert, now is one of the most magnificent cities, created for entertainment.

The city of sins has a steady economic growth over the years. Nevada was the first state in which gambling were legalized. According to the first Las Vegas information El Rancho Casino was one of the first city casinos appeared in 1941. Seeing the success of the El Rancho, a few other casinos appeared in 1941. The well-known Las Vegas history Flamingo casino with its iconic pink neon flamingo located outside the city of Los Angeles was open to the public in the new year’s eve in 1946.

In 1950, Las Vegas witnessed the emergence of hundreds of casinos that appeared in the form of resorts, which were all created for gambling. These luxurious casino resorts include “Sahara,” “Tropicana” and “Riviera”.

The city of Las Vegas had a stormy life, while its casinos were kep being built. Different casino resorts were open to entertain guests from around the world. Later in 1960, many corporations began to invest in this industry. During 1990 there were built over 18 new places for gambling, many of these places were built with the themes of major cities.

Neighborhood of Las Vegas, known as the “band”, which is about 4km. in length, was the ideal location to build casino-hotels. There were built such hotels as Casino Resort, Casino Royale & Hotel, etc.

Currently, Las Vegas has hundreds of carefully thought-out resorts, theme parks and many other attractions that draw thousands of tourists, visitors and players from around the world. Stratosphere is one of the best Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, located on the boulevard of Las Vegas Strip is owned by American Casino. The Hotel has 444 rooms and casino area of 7000 m². Tower Hotel & Casino Stratosphere is the highest observation tower in the U.S.

The main attraction of the Stratosphere hotel and casino is teh tower lookout, a height of 350 meters that makes it not only the highest building in Las Vegas, but also the second tallest free-standing building in the United States.

At the top of the tower there is a viewing platform, a revolving restaurant and the following attractions:

-The Big Shot (located at an altitude of 329 m, the highest ride in the world);

- Insanity the Ride (opened in 2005, is located at an altitude of 274 m, the visitors are submitted by the edges of the tower and then rotate in a circle at a speed of about 40 miles per hour);

-XSCREAM (located at an altitude of 264 m);

-The High Roller (located at an altitude of 277 m, are the highest “roller coaster in the world, was closed on December 30, 2005 to make way for a new attraction).
